Why should I wear the belt? How long should I wear it?

  • Wear the Bikini Belt to reduce Pain, increase comfort moving around, and protect your incision so the scar is smaller.
  • Compressing the abdomen reduces pain and discomfort so you can move around more easily!
  • Your core stomach muscles were cut and getting up and down is difficult and painful after birth.

  •  Our soft cotton blend does not cut into your skin or side, but still offers the support that you need after the surgery.  It is easy to wash and is adjustable by 8 inches, therefore, its easy to lose weight and still have support with our belt.

  • Wear it as long as you like, but definitely the first 3 weeks post C Section.  Open the belt while lying down so your skin can breathe easily.
  • The belt was designed to give support after C Section birth, or a vaginal birth.  It can also be worn when you are pregnant.
  • If you wear the Bikini belt in late pregnancy, the material may stretch.
  • The Hem It in belt is excellent during pregnancy and post birth.

How should I put on the belt?

  • Lying down is the best position for wrapping the belt. Hold the flat side of belt in our right hand, and remember to place the printed side against the body, following directions. This will guarantee the most comfort and support for your freshly cut abdomen.
  • In the first two weeks, I suggest you place belt on while lying down for maximum support, and minimal pain.
  • Wearing the belt increases support and protects the abdomen.

Our extra support strap is easy to put on, and provides direct support over the incision area for active times.  Place it across your back to reduce back pain, hip to hip.

Wearing the belt for the first couple of weeks should be easy and consistent. Wear the belt as long as you feel you need extra support. Getting in and out of bed, bending over baby, carrying car seat, all can have an affect upon your healing and scar.

Wash your belt, while it's fastened. Keep the scar clean and dry, but supported. Don't let an infection build up in the scar.  Keep it clean, open to air when laying down, and the belt clean. You will heal faster by taking care, then not supporting your abdomen.  A month post partum is probably what you will want to wear it for, and the Hem it in belt provides extra support for the 2nd and 3rd month. But please wear the belt as long as you want to help support your belly in the post partum shift.

Everyone has different needs, and reducing pain while supporting tissue and minimizing scar size is our goal!
